I could not for the life of me tell you the names of my neighbors. I could, however, tell you that Chanel, the beagle, lives right next door and that Woody, the pug, lives in the next building over. That is just the kind of person I am.
For as long as I can remember, I have wanted to work with animals. I did not know exactly how I was going to achieve this goal, only that it was something I required in my life. I find animals to be calming, and I can connect with them in a way that I am unable to connect with most people. They accept my quirks and love me just the same.
After coming to the realization that I could combine my love of photography with my love of animals, I instantly felt a sense of relief. While some people glance into my studio and see chaos, I see fun and playfulness. It does not matter if I have to take a ton of shots to get “the one” because Fido will not stop chasing his tail. I am able to laugh and connect with someone who up until recently had been a complete stranger, all because Fido brought us together. His owner and I have an instant bond simply because we both want Fido to look his best.
Once all the activity of the shoot subsides and Fido has gone home, I get to relive the joy of the photo shoot through the editing process. I then get to share that feeling with people I’ve never even met when Fido’s friends and family see his smiling mug shared on the Internet or in print. It is an amazing chain of smiles and laughter that comes about all because of a single pet. I get to experience this phenomenon every day, and for that, I am truly blessed.
I reached out to [Clair] and she promptly responded with a quote and her availability. She is a very talented photographer with a keen eye who does much more than simply point and shoot pictures. Her high-quality equipment, combined with her friendly, laid back and patient demeanor produced many wonderful (sometimes comical) images of our fur babies that my husband and I will forever be grateful for. I highly recommend Clair, and I promise that you will not be disappointed.Melissa Case-OrtizPet Owner
I truly enjoyed working with Clair Flaherty when she photographed rescue dogs for my dog rescue, Maxx & Me Pet Rescue. She delivered amazing photos of our rescue dogs who desperately needed photos to assist in getting them permanent homes. Clair was able to expertly handle many dogs during the photo sessions…no easy task! She is kind, professional and very talented with the ability of being able to capture the personality of each dog! Most of our dogs have had a rough start in life and need that extra WOW factor that Clair delivered!Lea Elise HaverstockFounder - Maxx & Me Pet Rescue
Clair is wonderful–we’ve never been able to capture photos displaying their personalities and she was able to. She even got Oscar’s smile!Karla JenkinsPet Owner
